Our client sought a scalable electrical design for a 240MW hyperscale data centre to be deployed across 15 regions in EMEA. Each 120m building, divided into eight phases, posed a significant engineering challenge, requiring a design that would accommodate local regulations and scalable deployment. With a project value of £40m per site, Calmor's proven experience in colocation and hyperscale data centres across Europe was crucial.
Calmor crafted the electrical Building Services design, ensuring seamless coordination from the 20kV incoming supplies to the fire alarm systems. Our design focused on scalability, minimization of on-site assembly works, and compliance with varying local regulations, all while streamlining the electrical service coordination for effective scalability across EMEA.
01 -
Reduced On-Site Assembly: Our design significantly minimized site assembly, cutting labour costs.
02 -
3D Modeling Coordination: We utilized a 3D model for comprehensive coordination of all internal services and site interface locations.
03 -
Design Efficiency: Implemented design checkpoints at strategic project stages (30%, 60%, 90%, 100%) for quality control.
04 -
First-of-a-Kind Execution: Completed a pioneering As-Built model for the flagship building in Belgium, setting a high standard for subsequent rollouts.
05 -
Continuous Improvement: Fostered a collaborative environment to incorporate lessons learned and improvements for future EMEA deployments.
