Project info

An established design & build mechanical and electrical contractor appointed us to carry out the M&E design for a new mushroom production facility.

The project consisted of new MV substation & transformer with associated electrical services and mechanical services, including air handling units to meet Tesco, Sainsburys and BRC food specifications.

Due to the ‘split-level’ nature of the site and no option to penetrate the floor slab above, there were significant space constraints on this project.

Solution

Since the Calmor team have significant experience in Construction Management, we were able to work efficiently with the structural, civils and architectural teams to work around the space constraints.

Previous site experience allowed us to quickly coordinate services in lower ground floor ceiling void at the beginning of the project, allowing the structural steelwork to be ordered before fully designing the M&E services
